Elyssa Berg began her training at Impulse Dance Center in Natick, Massachusetts. She graduated in May 2017 from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and Choreography. Elyssa spent the spring of her junior year in Paris through the University of South Florida’s Dance in Paris Semester Program, under the direction of Michael Foley. While in Paris she had the opportunity to study with incredible faculty and guest choreographers including Kevin Quinaou, Wanjiru Kamuyu, Nathalie Pubellier, and Julien Desplantez, among others. While at VCU, Elyssa has performed in many works by students and faculty such as Scott Putman, Melanie Richards, and Judy Steel, as well as guest artists including Doug Varone, Liz Lerman/Dance Exchange, and Dawn Bazemore. Elyssa has also danced in an official music video for Prinze George entitled Victor, directed by Thomas Hinkamp and choreographed by VCU Alumna Dillon Spicer, which became a finalist in the 2015 LA Music Video Festival. Most recently, Elyssa has presented her choreography in VCU’s fall 2016 Senior Project concert, “emerge.”
